You are here today as the provost of Central European University. First of all, let me congratuate you because you are the only Hungarian university that has a program, the philosophy program, which is listed among the first 200 in an international ranking.

Katalin Farkas:

Thank you very much. I am particularly happy because I myself am a philosopher, too. When I don’t act as provost, I teach at the Department of Philsophy.

Student Engagement Prize

The members of 20th Anniversary Committee are pleased to announce that the Student Engagement Prize has been awarded to a joint project: Sustainable Campus Initiative (SCI) for the overall efforts and achievements in making CEU a more sustainable place. The members of SCI are: Lea Baumbach, Peter Kiryushin, Logan Strenchock, Tom Figel, Linda Horvath, Carlos Lopez Gomez, Javier Esparrago Llorca, Sarah Czunyi and Lisa Lamb.

Additional events supported by the Anniversary Events Fund

"Homeless Relief Project" – a student-run volunteering initiative to support organizations helping homeless people in Budapest

CEU Issues Call for Expressions of Interest for Provision of Architectural and Design Services from Local and International Firms

CEU has embarked upon a comprehensive plan to redevelop the current CEU campus to create a University that is forward looking in both technology and sustainable energy use, and unique in the Central and Eastern European region. The plan presents CEU with a remarkable opportunity to create a complex, modern campus. Its prime objectives are to provide sufficient space and appropriate facilities to support current as well as future activities and needs of the University.
